There is a high mileage on the data sheet. For your everyday life, it counts whether the scooter reliably manages your entire daily journey. A "up to" indication is a comparative value under certain conditions and not a commitment for each journey.
Start with your longest normal day
Record back, return and regular additional rides. Example: 14 kilometers to work, 14 back and 6 kilometers for completions make 34 kilometers. The appropriate battery version must cover this requirement even if the conditions are less favourable. A reserve can only be defined meaningfully if the route, weather and vehicle are known.
What the information on the battery means
Volt denotes the voltage, amperage hours the electrical charge quantity. For a first comparison of the stored energy you can multiply the nominal voltage with the ampere hours: 60 V × 30 Ah = 1,800 Wh, that is 1,8 kWh. Use the nominal voltage and not the higher voltage of a fully charged battery. The energy actually usable can be smaller.
Also two batteries with the same watt hours do not automatically produce the same range. Vehicle, speed and distance determine how much energy is needed per kilometer.
What You Should Pay Attention to in Everyday Life
- Driving profile: Frequent start-up, high speed and longer gradients make the drive more demanding.
- Payload: Drivers, luggage and an authorised accompanying person are part of the planning.
- Weather: Cold and headwind can reduce the range.
- Vehicle condition: Too low tire pressure, grinding brakes and an aged battery can change the energy requirement or the usable energy.
Watching your own route meaningfully
Drive well-known paths and record distance, weather, payload as well as the indicated loading state before and after the journey. Compare several similar days. Do not drive the battery intentionally empty. The percentage indicator is an orientation; a linear extrapolation of a few percentage points is not a capacity measurement.
A mathematical example: With 1500 Wh of usable energy and an assumed consumption of 30 Wh/km, 50 km without additional reserve will result. This is an example calculation, not a range indication for a model from our range.
Suddenly, a lot less miles?
First, compare the conditions with your previous journeys. If additional shutdowns, charging interruptions or unusual displays occur, ask for a technical clarification. Send us model, battery version and your observations. A single short driving day does not yet prove a defective battery.
