The electricity bill only shows part of the cost of your electric scooter. For a fair comparison, purchase, maintenance, wear and tear, possible insurance and loss of value are included. Calculate with your own driving profile instead of a flat monthly advertising number.
Calculate electricity costs with your invoice
The simplest formula is: charged energy at the socket in kWh × your electricity price in CHF/kWh. The power at the socket also contains the charging losses. The capacity specified on the battery alone is therefore not an exact measurement of the current supply.
Pure calculation example: You charge 2.4 kWh at the socket and use an assumed electricity price of CHF 0.30/kWh. That costs CHF 0.72. If you travel 60 kilometers between these comparable charging states, the equivalent to CHF 1.20 electricity per 100 kilometers. At 4,000 kilometers, it would be CHF 48 a year.
These values are freely chosen computational assumptions, no current Swiss unit rate and no consumption promise for our models. Use your tariff and your measured energy reference.
These items are also included in the budget
- Service and wear: Tyres, brake pads, controls and model-dependent maintenance.
- Battery: A possible later replacement can be an essential issue. Clear the price, availability and conditions for your model.
- Insurance and admission: These depend on the vehicle category and the desired coverage.
- Equipment: Matching helmet, gloves, weather protection and a suitable lock.
- Other costs: Parking space, transport, financing and an alternative means of transport in case of failures.
Examine acquisition and financing separately
A low monthly rate says little about the total cost. Compare deposit, maturity, interest, fees and a possible final payment based on the specific offer. When buying cash, the loss in value is included in the invoice: purchase price minus a realistic estimate of later sales proceeds.
How to compare two models
Create a list of all expected expenditures for the same period of use. Use the same annual mileage. Ask about the planned maintenance plan and the price of important spare parts. A cheaper purchase price can lose its advantage if the vehicle is poorly suited to your everyday life or suitable parts are difficult to obtain.
We will clarify in Dietikon which works and parts are eligible for your concrete model. A binding repair offer usually requires a test in case of a defect. The Request for service and spare parts helps us with the preparation.
