Battery and range for your everyday life

Plan your daily route including a return journey and a reserve. Maximum range values are not a promise for your distance: gradients, loading, temperature and driving mode change the result. Charging time, storage space and the question whether you have to carry a battery are also crucial. Determine the acceptability and the weight in the concrete version.

Electric scooter without driver's card or driver's license: Which version is meant?

In Switzerland, people aged 16 and over are allowed to work as Light motorcycle drive a classified vehicle without a driver's pass. For 14- to 16-year-olds, category M is required. In the case of electric scooters of this category, a maximum engine power of 500 W and a maximum design speed of up to 25 km/h are essential; the vehicle must also meet the other technical requirements. Therefore, the inscription "25 km/h" alone is not sufficient.

This rule does not apply to faster scooters or e-trottinettes. Check the specific vehicle class and version before purchase. You can find the basics at the BFU to electric vehicles and in our Guide to the driving pass for electric scooters.
